Gem Archer plays guitar in Oasis, a role he has held since 1999 and is expected to reprise on the Live ‘27 reunion tour, unconfirmed. He joined at the turn of the century as the line-up changed, bringing a steadier, more musicianly presence that carried the band through its later albums, from Standing on the Shoulder of Giants to Dig Out Your Soul.

Before Oasis, Archer fronted the band Heavy Stereo, and after the 2009 split he remained one of Noel Gallagher’s most trusted collaborators, playing in the High Flying Birds. That long working relationship with Noel is part of why his return for the reunion needed so little adjustment: he knows the catalogue from the inside and slots naturally into the touring band’s guitar sound.

In 2027 he is again a core part of the live six-piece behind the Gallaghers. See the complete Live ‘27 lineup for the rest of the touring band, and the Oasis members hub for the band’s full history of personnel.
