Paul “Guigsy” McGuigan was the original bassist of Oasis and part of the classic line-up, in the band from 1991 to 1999. He does not play on the Live ‘27 reunion, Andy Bell holds the bass role now, but his playing is on the records that made the band.

Guigsy anchored the low end through the imperial years, appearing on the first three albums, Definitely Maybe, (What’s the Story) Morning Glory? and Be Here Now, and standing on stage for the two Knebworth 1996 nights that remain the band’s symbolic peak. His understated, locked-in style was the quiet engine beneath the guitars. He left in 1999 as the original line-up broke up, and Andy Bell took over.

As a former member he belongs to the history that the 2027 tour reaches back to rather than the live band itself. The Oasis Knebworth 1996 page covers the shows he played, and the Oasis members hub maps every line-up.
