Tony McCarroll was the original drummer of Oasis, part of the Manchester line-up that signed to Creation and recorded the debut. His years in the band were 1991 to 1995, and he does not play on the Live ‘27 reunion, his place in the story belongs to the very beginning rather than the tour.
McCarroll drummed on Definitely Maybe (1994), the fastest-selling debut album in UK history at the time, and on the early singles that announced the band, from “Supersonic” to “Cigarettes & Alcohol”. His straightforward, hard-hitting style suited the raw energy of that first record. He left in 1995 before the recording of (What’s the Story) Morning Glory?, and the drum seat passed to Alan White.
As a former member he is a key part of the band’s history rather than its 2027 live show. For the drummers who followed and the current touring band, see the Oasis members hub and the Live ‘27 lineup.
