Oasis Live '27 Support: Liam Gallagher Rules Out Fontaines D.C.
Liam Gallagher says Fontaines D.C. are not good enough to open for Oasis on Live '27, closing the door on the Irish band for the 42-show tour.
Liam Gallagher has ruled out Fontaines D.C. as a support act for Oasis Live β27. The Oasis frontman gave his verdict on X on 16 October 2026 after a fan asked why the band had not booked the Irish group. He wrote that they were not good enough and that they had no tunes.
Meanwhile, the timing gave the exchange extra edge for fans on both sides. Fontaines D.C. released their new album Dopamine Chamber on the same day. The band had previewed the record at an intimate show at the Roundhouse in London on 15 October, the night before the album release.
The row did not start in October. Two band members had criticised the Oasis reunion in 2024, and their comments still shape the story. Guitarist Carlos OβConnell said he did not care about the reunion.
Bassist Conor Deegan III said the reunion pulled attention back to an old era instead of new music. Gallagher answered those 2024 comments with blunt insults on social media at the time. Frontman Grian Chatten then distanced himself in a comment on an NME post, writing that he loved Oasis and that the view was not his.
For context, the October exchange repeated the same pattern. A fan asked again why Oasis would not book Fontaines D.C. for Live β27. Gallagher answered with the same verdict, and the band had not responded publicly when NME published its report.

Why the support slot matters
Still, the support picture for Live β27 stays narrow for now. Richard Ashcroft stands as the only act confirmed as support at every show on the tour. He joined Oasis on their Live β25 dates in the UK, and he returns for the new run as the first confirmed name.
Liam Gallagher has also teased more support announcements for the tour. He told fans that quite a few more acts will join the bill in time. No other act has a confirmed slot yet, so fans should treat every other name as a rumour.
That gap matters because support acts shape the whole night. A strong opener warms the crowd and sets the pace for the headliners on a long stadium night. Our Oasis support acts page tracks every confirmed name as announcements land.
What the row means for fans
Above all, the exchange changes nothing about the tour itself. Oasis announced Live β27 on 14 September 2026, and demand then pushed the run from 38 shows to 42 shows. All 42 shows sold out in the September 2026 ballot, and the band has confirmed that no further dates will follow.
The tour opens at Celtic Park in Glasgow on 21 May 2027. It then runs through Manchester, Munich, Barcelona, Amsterdam, Paris and Rome before two nights at Slane Castle in Ireland. The run closes with six nights at Knebworth, and the final show lands on 26 September 2027.
For fans still hunting for a way in, only official resale offers a safe route. Tickets bought on secondary sites risk cancellation, and the band warns fans against social media sellers. The Oasis tickets page explains the face value resale rules and the deadlines that matter.
Meanwhile, Fontaines D.C. move on with their own busy schedule. A special filmed for Later with Jools Holland will air in November. At the Roundhouse show, Chatten called it a very tough year for the band, and the new album now leads their next chapter.
The Live β27 setlist debate will keep running until the tour opens. Fans want deep cuts back in the show, and Liam Gallagher has already heard those calls online. The six Knebworth nights close a run that began in Glasgow in May.
