A lifelong Oasis fan looks back on the second Live ‘25 night in Cardiff with clear joy.

The fan attended the show at Principality Stadium on 5 July 2025, one night after the tour opener.

For him, the night closed a wait that began in his teenage years.

In turn, the account follows his walk to the stadium, his seat, and the songs he still remembers.

The fan published his account in October 2026, more than a year after the show.

The night before the night

First, the tour opened at the same stadium on 4 July 2025.

In fact, that opener marked the band’s first gig together in 16 years.

Meanwhile, the fan heard the opening night spill from the stadium as he walked from his bus stop.

Earlier, he had travelled from Bristol, and he arrived two hours earlier than he planned.

Still, the ticket had cost him a long fight, and he says so plainly.

The fan writes that he paid £400 after a scramble on Ticketmaster, then spent a full day chasing the ticket.

Along the way, he writes that he also missed out on Dublin and Edinburgh in the same hunt.

The fan notes ten months passed between the ticket scramble and the show.

Around him, the city buzzed with Oasis mania, and fans wore tour shirts, bucket hats, and vinyl from the pop-up shop.

Cast, Ashcroft, and the walk to the stage

Next, the fan walked thirty minutes from a pub on City Road to the stadium.

On stage, Cast opened the night as one of the support acts, and Richard Ashcroft followed them on stage.

In his view, Ashcroft’s set thrilled the crowd, and the crowd waited for the main act.

Then, the fan recalls the band walking on stage at 20:15.

Together, the brothers raised each other’s hands in a salute to the crowd.

From the start, Liam Gallagher sang with his hands clasped behind his back, in his familiar stance.

An hour later, he sat in a good seat inside the vast stadium.

The songs the fan remembers

At once, the band opened with Hello, and the crowd sang every line from the start.

By his count, the fan puts the crowd at 70,000, and he says every fan sang every line.

The fan says he had never seen anything like the Cardiff night.

After that, the fan names Slide Away, Whatever, and Live Forever in the main set.

For songs, the fan wanted songs from Definitely Maybe and Morning Glory, and the band obliged.

The Morning Glory album songs drew the same full voice response.

At the end, Rock ‘n’ Roll Star closed the main set, and a four song encore followed.

Above all, the fan singles out Don’t Look Back in Anger as the night’s emotional peak.

Finally, Champagne Supernova closed the night as feedback rang around the stadium.

For comparison, NME reported a 23 song set for the opening night on 4 July.

The fan names the same closing landmarks, and our Oasis setlist page tracks the reported songs.

In reviews, NME awarded the opening night five stars.

A teenage memory from Cork

Long before Cardiff, the fan saw Oasis at Páirc Uí Chaoimh in Cork in August 1996.

On crutches, he watched that show after a cycling accident the day before.

Beside him, his brother-in-law carried him a significant distance to the venue.

The Cork venue sat three miles from his front door at the time.

At home, he wore out a video of the Maine Road and Earls Court shows.

Back then, he also learned the songs from sheet music books and played them on guitar.

For him, the Cardiff night joined those teenage memories, not replaced them.

What Cardiff means for Live ‘27 watchers

Today, Cardiff stands as a look back, not as a preview of a new announcement.

For Live ‘27, no setlist exists, so fans treat the 2025 set as a prediction baseline only.

Our Oasis reunion page covers the return that made Cardiff possible.

Across the tour, Richard Ashcroft serves as special guest at every Live ‘27 show.

Our Richard Ashcroft guide covers his role across both tours.

In sales, all 42 Live ‘27 shows sold out in the September 2026 ballot.

The Live ‘27 tour runs from 21 May to 26 September 2027 across 11 cities.

In short, the Cardiff fan waited decades for one night, and the night matched his wait.
