Oasis Scotland Gigs History: From King Tut's to Celtic Park
Oasis open Live '27 with five Celtic Park nights in May 2027, closing a circle from King Tut's in 1993 through Balloch, Barrowland and Murrayfield.
Scotland gave Oasis their big break, and Scotland now opens the Live ‘27 tour.
The band plays five nights at Celtic Park on 21, 23, 25, 28 and 29 May 2027.
For fans, the run closes a circle that began in a tiny Scottish club in 1993.
Together, six Scotland moments trace that circle, from discovery to stadium return.
The discovery at King Tut’s
First, Alan McGee discovered Oasis at King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut in Glasgow in May 1993.
On the night, the unknown Manchester band talked its way onto the bill and played four songs.
As a result, McGee moved to sign the band to Creation Records.
In fact, sources date the King Tut’s night to 31 May 1993.
The band travelled north by van for the show, and McGee had come to see another Creation act that night.
The Glasgow discovery still shapes how fans tell the band’s story.
Irvine beach under the big top
Next, Oasis played two nights at Irvine Beach Park on 14 and 15 July 1995.
Under canvas, a big top tent housed the shows, and the band mixed fresh songs with debut album favourites.
Liam Gallagher later called the beach shows among the best gigs of the band’s whole run.
Meanwhile, the Irvine shows came a month after the band’s Glastonbury festival appearance.
Balloch and the Loch Lomond crowds
By 1996, Oasis played two huge shows at Balloch Castle Country Park on 3 and 4 August 1996.
For support, Cast and Ocean Colour Scene joined a bill that also featured Black Grape.
The source puts the official crowd at 80,000 fans across the two nights.
Still, people who attended recall a wilder scene, with fences down and fans crossing Loch Lomond.
Black Grape lifted the crowd before the main act.
The Balloch weekend landed in the same summer as the Knebworth shows.
Gig on the Green and the derby next day
Later, Oasis headlined Gig on the Green in Glasgow on 26 August 2000.
On tour, the band played the show on the Standing on the Shoulder of Giants tour.
Glasgow Green gave the band a big outdoor stage in the city.
The next day, Noel Gallagher watched Celtic beat Rangers 6-2 at Celtic Park.
The derby visit showed a Celtic link that now comes full circle at the same ground.
Barrowland in 2001
Then, Oasis returned to Glasgow’s Barrowland Ballroom on 13 and 14 October 2001.
For the tour, the band played the shows on the 10 Years of Noise and Confusion tour.
Crucially, cameras filmed the Barrowland shows for a television special.
The small room gave fans a close view of a band that usually filled stadiums.
Fans still trade recordings and memories from the two Barrowland nights.
Murrayfield and the 2025 return
After that, the reunion tour brought Oasis back to Scotland in August 2025.
In Edinburgh, the band played three nights at Murrayfield Stadium on 8, 9 and 12 August 2025.
Cast and Richard Ashcroft filled the support slots on each night.
Doors opened at 5pm on each Murrayfield night, with Cast at 6pm and Ashcroft at 7pm.
For many fans, the Edinburgh nights marked the band’s first Scottish shows since 2009.
The Edinburgh return closed a 16 year gap since the band’s last Scottish shows.
The three Murrayfield nights also sold out, and crowds packed the stadium on each night.
Celtic Park opens Live ‘27
Finally, Live ‘27 opens with the five night Celtic Park run in May 2027.
Across the tour, Richard Ashcroft serves as special guest at every show.
Above all, our Oasis history page traces the full story from the 1993 discovery to the reunion.
The Glasgow run leads a tour of 42 shows across 11 cities.
In sales, all 42 Live ‘27 shows sold out in the September 2026 ballot.
For dates, fans can find every date on our tickets page.
In short, Scotland gave Oasis a start, and Scotland now gives Live ‘27 its opening stage.
