Oasis Manchester Stadiums From Maine Road To Etihad 2027

Oasis play 11 nights at the Etihad Stadium in June 2027. The residency crowns a Manchester homecoming story that began at Maine Road in 1996. Three grounds tell that story, and each ground marks a different era for the band.

For context, both brothers supported Manchester City. Their club loyalty shaped every Manchester homecoming. The grounds changed as the band grew, but the homecoming idea stayed constant.

Maine Road in 1996

Oasis played two sold out shows at Maine Road on 27 and 28 April 1996. Maine Road then served as the home of Manchester City. The shows gave the band a true homecoming at their club’s ground.

First, the Maine Road weekend came months before Knebworth in August 1996. Our Maine Road 1996 guide covers those two nights in full. The homecoming set the tone for a huge summer.

Ocean Colour Scene and Manic Street Preachers supported at Maine Road. The support bill matched the scale of a hometown event. Fans queued in person for tickets long before online sales took over.

The Maine Road shows also carried a personal edge for the brothers. They played the ground of the club they supported. That fact turned a concert into a homecoming in the fullest sense.

Maine Road was a different ground from the later Manchester stadiums. The band left that ground behind as the club moved on. The homecoming idea moved with them to the next ground.

City of Manchester Stadium in 2005

Next, Oasis returned home to a new ground in 2005. The band played three nights at the City of Manchester Stadium. The dates ran on 30 June, 2 July and 3 July 2005.

The stadium then served as the new home of Manchester City. The July dates sold out quickly, and the band added 30 June to meet demand. Three nights showed that the homecoming had outgrown a single date.

The 2005 run also showed the scale of local demand. Three nights in one hometown proved the size of the Manchester following. The added date answered that demand in real time.

The 2005 shows used the City of Manchester Stadium name. Keep that name with its era. The 2027 shows use a different stadium name, and the next section explains the change of scale.

Etihad Stadium in 2027

Oasis play the Etihad Stadium on 4, 6, 8, 11, 12, 15, 18, 19, 22, 25 and 26 June 2027. The run spans 11 nights in a single month. No other city on the tour hosts more nights.

Meanwhile, Richard Ashcroft serves as special guest at every show on the tour. The tour names only Liam and Noel Gallagher as confirmed performers by name. That billing holds across all 11 Manchester nights.

Still, all 42 Live ‘27 shows sold out in the September 2026 ballot. No general sale followed the ballot. Fans need official resale at face value, and our tickets guide explains the official route.

The full tour runs from 21 May to 26 September 2027 across 11 cities. Manchester sits early in that run, in June. The residency gives the homecoming city the longest single stay on the tour.

What the three grounds show

Above all, the three grounds show growth without losing the homecoming idea. Maine Road gave Oasis a club ground homecoming in 1996. The City of Manchester Stadium gave them a bigger hometown stage in 2005.

The Etihad Stadium now gives them an 11 night residency in 2027. Each step raised the scale, and each step kept Manchester at the centre. The city shaped the band, and the band keep returning to the city.
